WHAT WE DO
Depository
CSCS keeps and maintains an electronic book-entry record of all securities, including shares, unitized funds, bonds, and treasury bills, ensuring safekeeping and efficient transfer of securities between parties during trades.
Prior to CSCS establishment, issued securities certificates were prone to duplicity, forgery, and loss, which encouraged unauthorized sales, certificate theft and minimal transparency in general operations of the market. With the completion of the dematerialization exercise, all securities certificates are converted to an electronic format and safely domiciled within CSCS depository for efficient monitoring and management.
Shareholders who still hold physical share certificates are advised to visit their stockbrokers/registrars to initiate the dematerialization process of their share certificates.
